Asymptotic symmetries are a key concept in gravity and gauge theories and feature prominently in holographic correspondences. In this set of eight lectures I will introduce this subject, discuss examples in the context of (lower-dimensional) holography, and address some recent advances in near horizon and flat space holography. Optional homework exercises supplement the lectures.
