Title
Quantum reservoir probing of nonequilibrium information propagation in diverse quantum systems
Abstract
Quantum information has witnessed a plethora of successful applications as a means to explore quantum phenomena in equilibrium systems. This effectiveness has encouraged recent investigations into the utilization of information as a probing tool in nonequilibrium systems [1,2]. Nevertheless, methodologies to directly observe the dynamics of information propagation have been largely unexplored.
Here, we develop a novel method, referred to as quantum reservoir probing (QRP), that dynamically captures information propagation in quantum systems [3]. Through the lens of QRP, we identify distinct types of information propagation that reflect the intrinsic dynamical nature of different systems. Furthermore, information propagation exhibits anomalies at quantum critical points due to enhanced fluctuations, allowing the QRP to precisely detect quantum phase transitions, including topological quantum phase transitions [4]. The broad applicability of our QRP establishes it as a comprehensive tool for probing quantum phenomena in nonequilibrium systems.
