Shan's defense and new job

Congratulations to Shan Zou for succefully defending her PhD thesis "Detection of the Rydberg states of electrons on superfluid helium in microchannel devices" and starting a new job in Intel. Enjoy your new position and let's keep in touch regarding the progress towards qubits on liquid helium!

Yui's new position

Yui Kubo moved to the Science and Technology Group in OIST and became an independent PI, leading the Hybrid Quantum Device Team. Congratulations and good luck with the projects!

Erika moved to RIKEN

Congratulations to Erika Kawakami for obtaining an independent PI position in RIKEN to start a new experimental group Floating-Electron-Based Quantum Informations. All the best with this new exciting venture!

Jason defended his thesis

Congratulations  to Jason Ball (second from left) for successfully defending his thesis "Investigating color centers in diamond for microwave quantum technology" supervised by Yui Kubo (third from left), as well as for starting his new job in Bloximo Corp, a quantum computing startup compony in USA. Best of luck with the new exciting research!

Jiabao defended his thesis

Congratulations to Jiabao Chen for defending his thesis entitled "Coherent control of charged particle systems with microwave photons" in front of two tough theoreticians! On the photo (left to right): Prof. Thomas Busch (co-superviser), Prof. Valeriy Shikin (1st extrernal examiner), Jiabao Chen, Prof. Jian-Qiang You (2nd extrenal examiner), Prof. Denis Konstantinov (superviser).

Unit's first PhD student graduated

Jui-Yin Lin, the Unit's first graduate student, graduated! Four years of hard work on "Transport properties of strongly-correlated 2D electrons confined in microchannels" has come to end. Congratulations Jui-Yin!

International Workshop on Hybrid Quantum Systems

International Workshop on Hybrid Quantum Systems will be held at OIST on 8th January 2019, where Prof. Denis Konstantinov and Jason Ball will give invited talks!

This workshop is OPEN FOR ALL OISTERS.

See the workshop website for the details.
