Speakers:
Prof. Mahmood Ishtiaq, National University of Singapore - Pasha Mahmood is a Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School where he studies and works with multinational firms and local enterprises on their emerging market strategies. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s international panel of experts, acting as the co-curator for the ASEAN Transformation Map. Pasha obtained his B.A. in Economics from Oberlin College and his Ph.D. from Harvard University. Prior to joining academia, he had worked as a management consultant for Gemini in Chicago. From 2012 to 2015, Pasha was a Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the IMD Business School in Switzerland. He has also held several Visiting Professor appointments at universities such as Waseda and Hitotsubashi in Japan, and St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Japan Southeast Asia Innovation Platform (JSIP) - JSIP is a platform that supports Japanese companies' business development innovation in Singapore and Southeast Asia in cooperation with Singapore's government agencies, incubation facilities, universities, venture capital, etc.

  • Yusuke Tsuji: Executive Officer of ICMG. After starting his career at J.P. Morgan as a new graduate, he joined ICMG. He has led numerous co-creation innovation projects, programs, and platforms based on the concept of "Purposeful & Impactful Innovation" – creating innovations that are intrinsically meaningful to the world. In addition to jointly implementing projects with clients from ideation to commercialization, he has extensive experience in leading management reforms, including the grand design of overall and individual strategies such as corporate strategy, innovation strategy, innovation processes, organizational design, and human resource systems. He has also directly supervised many CEOs. Additionally, he led the creation of a strategic alliance and joint initiative with UNDP GCTISD in the area of SDGs, obtaining approval from the UN Headquarters in New York. He has been selected as a judging panel member and mentor for various global programs and teaches a class on Innovation for Well-being at the University of Tokyo. He also serves as an advisor to Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives).
  • Takaki Nakamura, Co-Founder, JSIP: Takaki joined a pre-seed Startup founded by a Greek entrepreneur in his university days and was involved in marketing and corporate assignments for 2 years. After graduation, he joined Sojitz, a general trading company in 2011. He was in charge of 50+ projects and successfully closed 12 deals (worth approximately 650 billion yen) in infrastructure development and M&A projects in emerging countries such as Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Vietnam, and Indonesia. In 2016, he joined the M&A team of Accenture and supported PE firms and Japanese corporates cross border M&A as a BDD advisor and PMI consultant. Later in 2019, he joined Vertex Holdings, the largest VC firm in Southeast Asia. He was involved in Funf of Funds and startup investments as well as open innovation support for Japanese companies. In 2022, he founded Cross Capital, a VC FoF / Advisory firm aiming to facilitate cross border collaboration and investments. At the same time, he co-founded JSIP, an innovation community in Singapore (members include 40+ corporates and startups) and continues to manage it to date.
