Description
Title: Numbers in Nature Art and Architecture
Abstract: Numbers quantify our knowledge of the World, pervading human thinking since time immemorial.
Seeking order in the Universe led also to concepts of beauty in art and architecture. In this lecture I will present a bird's eye view of the development of number theory from the Greeks through the Indians and the Arabs to the Renaissance in Italy, with examples from Physics, Art and Architecture.
