Description
When tea was first introduced to Britain, it was advertised as a medicine. The English doctor Samuel Johnson profusely prescribed tea to his patients and was rumored to have consumed as many as sixteen cups of tea at a tea party.
In his own words, Johnson was “a hardened and shameless tea-drinker, who has, for twenty years, diluted his meals with only the infusion of this fascinating plant; whose kettle has scarcely time to cool; who with tea amuses the evening, with tea solaces the midnight, and, with tea, welcomes the morning.”
So do as the doctor says and join us for teatime at 16:00 on Thursday, Level B Center Building. Please bring your own teacup.
