Please join us for an exciting lecture that will explore the dynamic intersection of science, art, and technology. The talk will open with Prof. Seiichi Tsuchiya, from the Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, who will provide a historical perspective on how these fields continuously influence and enrich one another, looking into the past, present, and future of these interactions. The discussion will then shift to focus on world-renowned artist Sputniko! and her experience working at the intersection of these disciplines, and on Coral Colors, her latest artwork produced in collaboration with OIST. In the last segment of the talk, Prof. Timothy Ravasi will talk about coral bleaching, highlighting the urgent situation of coral reefs around the globe and the important need to raise awareness. This urgent situation was the source of inspiration for Coral Colors, and ultimately prompted this dialogue between science, art, and technology.
Through our inspiring speakers, the audience will gain insight into how such interdisciplinary collaborations are pushing the boundaries of these disciplines, showcasing groundbreaking work where creativity and scientific inquiry come together to shape new approaches to innovation and thought.
