Eye Tracker

The ECS Unit has two EyeLink 1000 Plus eye trackers. We will use them to better understand the role of eye gaze in social and human machine interactions. The eye trackers we chose offer the possibility of high frequency recording of eye gaze and pupil dilation up to 2000 Hz.

Eye trackers use the reflection of infrared light to record eye movements. These eye movements can be based on conscious decisions, such as gaze positions, or subconscious processes like pupil dilation. Using an eye tracker therefore opens a window into different psychophysiological and psychological processes.

Currently we are using the eye trackers in our Kicks Project on "Active, interactive and social perception through eye gaze".
