Ground Transportation: Naha Airport <--> Kafuu Resort

Kafuu Resort is ~50km from Okinawa Naha Airport. There are several ground transportation options. Please be aware that many of the buses end their service between 6:00pm-7:30pm. Taxis are the only option for arrivals after 7:30pm.

Currency Exchange at Airport

We recommend that you have Japanese Yen cash on hand for ground transportation and other incidentals. Buses and many taxis do not accept credit cards. You may exchange currency at your local airport or arrival airport.

 

Travel Bursery

Participants will receive a travel bursary from OIST as a reimbursement of the actual cost of the air ticket, up to the amount shown in the table below, whichever is less.

Domestic Flights: OIST will reimburse the actual expenses of the economy-class air ticket from mainland Japan to Okinawa, and from Okinawa to mainland Japan. OIST cannot reiumburse business-class domestic air ticket expenses.

To receive reimbursement, you must submit the following:

  • Airfare receipt that shows ticket price paid
  • Boarding passes (must be in paper form)

 

Per Diem

Please be aware that the cost of meals will not be covered during the Bootcamp. OIST will provide a per diem of 2,400 Yen per day for each work day, which Participants will receive along with their travel bursery after the completion of the Bootcamp.
