Description

Seven Wonders of Physics (a non-technical talk for nonspecialists)
Michael Berry, Department of Physics, University of Bristol, United Kingdom

Sometimes, nature illustrates the abstract ideas of physics and mathematics in beautiful ways, and these ideas can be brought to life by simple illustrations. My seven wonders include the great moon-driven river wave, light interference magnified in rainbows, and the hair's-thread of fuel that powers a car, quantum twists and turns, and the colour of gold.
