The SAP Holiday Program is Coming!

July will kick off this years summer holiday program. The program will run from 7/25/22-8/26/22. SAP staff are very excited to see all of your children again and have a great time over the summer break.

The teachers have planned some great activities for the children to partake in. Each day there will be one main activity for the kids, either a physical or a STEM related. There will also be a few movies days, water play once a week (weather permitting), and a couple of other surprise events for the kids, we can't wait!

If you havent done so already, please be sure to enroll your child/ren into the Holiday Program. The Holiday Program is available from 8:30-18:30 on the above mentioned dates. If you would like to order lunch/snack for child/ren in August, please be sure to do so by July 20th (7/20/22).

Water Play is on the Way!

This year the SAP will hold Water Play every Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 (weather permitting). In order for your child/ren to join water play they must have the following items.

  1. A swimsuit or a pair of clothes that can get wet. If your child join waterplay wearing the clotes they arrive in please be sure to let you child know this.
  2. A change of clothes to change into after water play. It's also a good idea to have more than one change of clothes everyday since the children will sweat when they play outside.
  3. A platic bag or pool bag to put wet clothes/towels in. The SAP will not supply children with bags to keep their wet clothes in.
  4. A bath towel or larger towel to dry off after water play. Please do not send your child to school with a hand towel to dry off with. The SAP will not provide towels for children to dry off. 

If you child is missing any of ther above items, they will not be able to join water play for the day.



  1. 水着または濡れても良い服登所時に着用している服で水遊びをされる場合は、その旨を必ずお子様にお伝えください。
  2. 水遊びの後に着替えるための着替え - 外で遊ぶと汗をかきますので、毎日着替えを複数用意しておくとよいでしょう。
  3. 濡れた衣類やタオルを入れるためのビニール袋やプールバッグ - SAPでは、濡れた衣類を入れる袋は用意しておりません。
  4. 水遊びの後、体を拭くためのバスタオルまたは大きめのタオル - 体を拭くためのハンドタオルを持参しての登所はご遠慮ください。SAPでは、お子様が体を拭くためのタオルはご用意しておりません。



Please Don't Forget....

Now that the days are longer and hotter, we would like to remind SAP families to please ensure your child has the following items.


  1. A hat-  SAP children will need a hat in order to play outdoors during the summer months. If your child forgets their hat, we will ask them to play indoors for the day.
  2. A water bottle- Please ensure your child has a full water bottle everyday. Children may bring water and tea to drink.
  3. Sunscreen (Optional)- The SAP encourages children to wear sunscreen before going out to play, but it is not required. If your child has medical reasons or you have personal reason why you do not want your child to wear sunscreen, please be sure to speak with the SAP Director or one of the staff about it.
  4. Appropriate clothing- Please send your child to the SAP in light, breathable clothing during the hot summer months.
  5. Sunglasses (Optional)-  If your child would like to bring sunglasses to the SAP, they are welcome to do so. Please note that the SAP takes no responsibilty if  your childs sunglasses are broken or lost.



  1. 帽子夏の間、屋外で遊ぶために、帽子が必要です。もしお子様が帽子を忘れた場合は、その日は室内で遊んでいただくことになります。
  2. 水筒 - 毎日、満タンの水筒を持たせてください。水やお茶を持参することも可能です。
  3. 日焼け止め(オプション)- SAPでは、お子様が外に出て遊ぶ前に日焼け止めを塗ることを推奨していますが、必須ではありません。もし、お子様の健康状態や個人的な理由で日焼け止めを塗らせたくない場合は、必ずSAPディレクターまたはスタッフにご相談ください。
  4. 適切な服装 - 暑い夏の間は、通気性の良い薄手の服装でSAPにお越しください。
  5. サングラス(オプション) - お子様がサングラスを持参される場合は、ご自由にお持ちください。万が一、サングラスを破損・紛失された場合、SAPは一切の責任を負いかねますのでご了承ください。


Reporting Child Absences

We would just like to remind you that if your child will be absent from the SAP/bus for any reason, please be sure to share that information either in person with a staff member, or online by emailing schoolageprogram@oist.jp

SAP Bus Rules and Consequences Agreement

Last month we sent out the SAP Bus Rules and Consequences Agreement to families who have children using our transportation services.  We would like to thank those of you who have already submitted the documents. For those of you who have not had a chance yet, please be sure to return them to the SAP as soon as possible.

The agreement is based on Okinawa Prefectures traffic and safety regulations and modified to reflect circumstances specific to the SAP by consulting with the Child Welfare Divison of the Onna Village Office, along with the Okinawa Gakudo (Afterschool) Support Center. The agreement has also been reviewed and approved by OIST's Rules and Compliance Section and Legal Counsel.

Each family (parent/gaurdian and child(ren) is required to sign the attached OIST SAP Bus Rules and Consequence Procedures document.

先月、SAP の送迎サービスをご利用のご家庭に、「SAP バス規定と罰則に関する同意書」を送付させていただきました。 すでにご提出いただいている方はありがとうございます。提出がまだの方は、なるべく早くSAPにご返送くださいますようお願いいたします。


各ご家庭(保護者とお子様)は、下記の「OIST SAP バスの規定と罰則に関する同意書」にご署名ください。




Water is Your Friend!

To stay on the topic of warm weather, we would also like for all families to please remind your children the importance of drinking water, especially when playing outdoors for extended periods of time.

At the SAP, the staff give the children water breaks every 15-20 minutes when playing outdoors. If a child runs out of water, there is a water server in the classroom where children can refill their bottles as many times as they need to throughout the day.

When the summer really kicks off, we also begin to give the children water breaks during indoor play in addition to outdoor play. Please be reassured that the staff are looking after the children and ensuring they are staying hydrated, we just ask that you remind them this too at home, and before dropping them off at the SAP.



夏が本格的に始まると、外遊びだけでなく、屋内での遊びでも子どもたちに水休憩を与えるようになります。 スタッフは、子どもたちが水分補給できるように見守っていますので、ご安心ください。ご家庭でも、SAPにお子さんをお預けになる前にも、保護者の方からお子様にお声掛けくださいますようお願いいたします。


July and August Holiday Program Dates




Be sure to regularly check the SAP webpage for updated information on Holiday Program dates. Please remember that in order to receive services, you must sign up two business days in advance to the required services. 

If you would like to order lunch and snacks, you must do so by the 20th of the month prior to the required service. Once a lunch order is made, refunds are not available. This includes, but is not limited to, if you decide to cancel a HP enrollment date, if your child will be absent, or if you or your child are sick and cannot attend as scheduled. Holiday Program space is available on a first-come first served-basis.
