SAP Library

Welcome to the SAP Library!

A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them.

When you walk into the SAP library, you will likely see children curled up on beanbags, reading books. You will see children sitting at the table, doing homework, drawing together, and reading together.

They will be reading in English, in Japanese, or in one of the many other languages they feel comfortable with. Sometimes they will want to take a book home with them, so they will use their library card and the library computer to check it out for a week. Then they bring it back so other children can read it.

The SAP library has over 2,000 titles in more than six languages, and it is constantly growing. We currently have books in Japanese, English, French, German, Mandarin, Russian, Hebrew and Spanish. We are happy to accept donations of age-appropriate children's books in any language.

Things you might want to know/ 知っておきたいこと:

Who can use SAP library?
Any child in the SAP room can read books inside the library.

How can I get a library card?
Children who have registered for After School or Holiday Program services can receive a library card. Library cards are needed to check out books to bring them home.

How long can I keep a book I checked out?
Books can be borrowed for one week. If you want to keep it longer, please renew your loan.

I can't find the book I want. What should I do?
Ask a teacher to help you. If all the teachers are busy, write down the name of the book you want and give it to a teacher. If we don't have it, we'll put it on the list to order it.

Why can't I check out some books?
Some books are labeled as "Reference Only". Those books cannot be removed from the library because they are educational books purchased with OIST subsidy funds.

一部の書籍には「Reference Only」と記載されています。これらの図書は、OISTの補助金で購入した教育用図書であるため、図書室から持ち出すことはできません。
