Description
Speaker: Dr. Estelle Inack from Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics
Title: Variational neural simulations and annealing
Abstract:
In recent years, neural network states have been used as powerful ansatzes to represent ground state wave-functions of quantum many-body systems. Two main paradigms have emerged as standard ways to use them, the data-driven approach and the Hamiltonian approach. In this talk, I will focus on the second path, describing it in detail within the framework of the variational principle. I will also present recent results on how this framework can be used to accurately emulate classical and quantum annealing to solve difficult optimization problems.
