■Abstract:
When a living organism is invaded by virus, the interaction between the virus and the host causes a multi-omics network involving genetic or non-genetic (epigenetic) factors on the molecular scale to change physiological functions on the whole-body scale. From the perspective of precision medicine, we study the host responses to viruses as a system, using the approach that links the data-driven analysis and the biological analysis bidirectionally. In the data-driven analysis we collect and generate medical information, virus genome information, omics information, and physiological information, and build a platform for analyzing such multimodal data. Furthermore, regarding epigenetic regulation, we focus on the roles of histone ubiquitination and higher-order chromatin structures in virus infection. The results obtained from the above will lead to the scientific innovation of precision medicine that contributes to the development of optimal diagnosis, treatment, and prevention for individuals.
