OIST NetCafé オンライン大学院説明会

STEM分野で博士課程やリサーチインターンシップに興味がある人を対象としたセッションです。言語は英語で行われます。OISTの博士課程やリサーチインターン、それぞれの出願プロセス、入学後の流れ、経済支援、大学院生活などが紹介され、ゲストスピーカーとして、OISTの現役博士課程学生2名が登壇します。今回は物理学分野を専門とした2名が登壇しますが、それ以外の分野の方も、もちろん歓迎です！

Leilee Chojnacki(OIST PhD Student, Year of 2017)

Leilee is a theoretical physicist who was born in the United States, and spent many of her schooling years in Spain. Leilee earned her MSc degree through the PSI programme at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (Canada) before coming to Okinawa as a PhD student at OIST. Here, she is a part of the Theory of Quantum Matter unit where she currently works on connecting field theories to lattice models of magnetism. When not overly absorbed tackling physics problems, Leilee enjoys spending time outdoors practicing martial arts or adventuring along the Okinawan coastlines.

Mohamed Atwa(OIST PhD Student, Year of 2016)

Mohamed “Moe” Atwa is an experimental condensed matter physicist in the Quantum Materials Science Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University. Prior to OIST, he worked on growing graphene at the University of Tokyo, and before that, did a Masters in Nanotechnology at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). His research interests include energy materials, growth and characterization of thin film materials, and synthesis of single crystals. When he’s not at the lab bench, Moe enjoys reading/watching/listening to sci-fi and fantasy, gaming, and cooking with friends
