Body Movement for Desk Work Classes
What is body movement for desk work?
Prolonged sitting increases our risk of developing health problems, creating bad posture, stiffness, and discomfort/pain in different body areas, such as the neck, upper back/shoulders (may cause headaches), lower back, and knees.
Body movement class combines exercises that focus on joint mobility (such as shoulders, hip, spine, and ankle), flexibility, stability (such as core/spine), strength, and muscle activation (such as glutes and abdomen), which fundamentally improve and support good posture, relieve muscle stiffness and pain (such as the lower back), and improve blood circulation.
Lesson Procedure Total 45 mins
1. Warm-up(15 minutes) Full-body mobility/Flexibility Flow for a healthy spine, joint, shoulder stiffness relief, and blood circulation.
2. Work-out(20 minutes) Body-weight exercise circuit for core/spine stability and glute activation, which helps relieve lower back pain, supporting good posture.
3. Cool Down Stretching (10 minutes) Deep Relaxation through stretches combined with breath work.
4. Exercise selection varies each class, suitable for all fitness levels.
