Mini Course: Photogrammetry for 3D Reconstruction

Photogrammetry is a technique that lets you create a 3D model of an object you have taken pictures from it. Perfect for creating 3D assets, art, 3D printed models, being also useful for visualizing in 3D your object of scientific study.

Come and learn, the only things you will need to scan the world are your phone camera and a laptop.

Target audience

This course is suitable for anyone.

The teacher will be Javier Tejeda Mora (PhD Student).

Workshop - Wednesday September 15, 1PM-4:30PM

We booked B705b, Lab 3 for the full afternoon and equiped it with some light so you can try taking pictures of an object in the best conditions. Come scan your own object with your phone (tips and tricks will be provided). Don't forget to bring your laptop, and a cable to connect your phone to your laptop as we will also dump the photos into the software.

Rendering your 3D model - Wednesday Septemver 17, 1PM-5PM

We will be available during that time in B701 to help you with reconstructing, or fine-tuning your 3D model from your own set of images. We can also give advice on how to get it 3D printed, or any other related topic.
