We are pleased to announce that OIST has become a member of MIRAI 2.0 as of April 2022.
About
MIRAI 2.0 is a collaboration between 20 Swedish and Japanese universities, aiming to contribute to long-term research collaboration and to promote Sweden and Japan as nations with world-leading large-scale research infrastructure.

Main activities
Research Innovation Weeks
The main activity of the MIRAI 2.0 project is a Research Innovation Weeks. The focus of Research Innovation Weeks will be on match-making between early career researchers, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into the scientific subjects as well as incorporating the possible use of existing large-scale research facilities. Prior to/after the workshop days, satellite events and workshops for early career researchers shall be carried out.
Seed-funding for early career researchers
MIRAI 2.0 opens a call for seed funding directly after the research and Innovation week to support promising collaborative initiatives as a result of workshops. Researchers who have participated in the research innovation week will be able to jointly apply for the seed funding(one researcher each from SE and JP at minimum)suggesting a project in their field that has the potential to lead to further collaborations.
