Introduction to HPC and Scientific Computing

At OIST we provide high-performance cluster computers for your scientific computing. In this two-day training session we will show you how to make best use of the HPC resources at OIST. You don't need any previous experience.

In the first session, we show how computing clusters are organized and introduce the fundamental concepts of parallel computing. In the second hands-on session we will learn how to log in, how to use the command line, then learn to run jobs on the OIST clusters.

In addition we will hold a separate short training on using the command line.

Next session

Monday May 12 between 10:00-12:00; and
Thursday May 15 between 10:00-12:00, in room C700 (Lab 3) or on Zoom.

Also, on Wednesday May 14 10:00-12:00 we will have the Introduction to the command line!

There is no registration. Make sure to bring a laptop.
