Introduction to HPC and scientific computing - Session 1

Date

Monday, January 22, 2018 - 13:00 to 15:00

Location

Room C700

Description

At OIST we provide high-performance computers and storage for your scientific computing. We will show you how to make best use of the HPC resources at OIST. You don't need any previous experience. The introduction is split into two sessions on consecutive days.

In the first session we show you how computing clusters are organized and introduce the fundamental concepts of parallel computing. We introduce the resources we have available here at OIST, and we'll quickly try logging in to Tombo, our training cluster.

Bring a laptop, and please apply for access to the Tombo and Sango clusters here: User Activation Request
