* We will do our best to accommodate your requests but please note that there might be occasions we cannot meet all the requests.
We will prepare a OIST logo T-shirt for all campers. Please let us know the suitable size for you by referring to the chart below. *Please note that we may not be able to meet all the requests depending on the stock we have. *Women may want to choose one size down from the size you usually wear.

Coral Planting/Snorkeling Tour
We will kick off the summer camp with "Coral Planting/Snorkeling Tour". Onna-village where OIST is located is also known as Coral Village. However, the survival of coral reefs is under threat due to many causes. The tour will be led by the former head of Onna Village Fisheries Cooperative and you will learn about the "Coral Crisis" and experience coral seedlings plantings at Maeda Fishing Port followed by a short boat ride to a reef restoration spot where you get to snorkel and explore diverse marine ecosystems.

 

 *Please note that this tour may be cancelled due to weather conditions or other unavoidable circumstances.

(Optional) Pottery Class
We can arrange a pottery class for those who are interested. Toushin-gama is one of the pottery studios that continues to produce pottery pieces using traditional techniques distinctive of Tsuboya Yaki pottery, which boasts a 330-year history. Toushin-gama offers introductory pottery courses at a cafe next to their studio.

Date&Time: August 3rd (Sat) 10:00am-12:00pm (depending on the course)
Cost: 3,000~3,500yen + Shipping fee

*It takes about 1-2months before your work gets shipped. *Please note that the cost for this activity will NOT be covered by OIST. *Participation is not mandatory.
