Description

The OIST Innovators Society is hosting a casual fireside chat with Koshu Kunii, Ryosuke Kimura and Kentaroh (Kenny) Awata, from Lifetime Ventures. Lifetime Ventures is a pre-seed venture capital firm based in Tokyo, that invests in talent to create businesses that will be loved and exist for a long time. Lifetime typically invests ~$50-500k in startups at the pre-seed or seed stage and provides hands-on support to its portfolio startups.

On Thursday, 14th April, 2022 (16:00-17:00), join us in-person in Seminar room C210, to learn more. This is an exciting opportunity to ask venture capitalists anything!

About Koshu Kunii

Koshu Kunii is a General Partner of Lifetime Ventures. He has a Masters in International Economics and Finance from Johns Hopkins University SAIS, and Leader of Tomorrow at St. Gallen Symposium 2016. Prior to Lifetime, he was at IFC (World Bank Group), investing in fintech startups in emerging markets globally. He began his career as a boutique asset manager based in Geneva, Switzerland. He also worked in banking in Mexico (Scotiabank, MUFG), primarily covering project finance deals in Latin America, as well as for the OECD where he provided cross-border investment policy advisory.

 

About Ryosuke Kimura

Ryosuke Kimura is the General Partner and Founder of Lifetime Ventures. Prior to founding Lifetime Ventures in 2017, he had worked for Incubate Fund where he raised JPY 13.5Bn in funding, one IPO and five M&A transactions through hands-on support to 41 portfolio companies. He previously worked for consulting firms (PwC and KPMG) advising infrastructure projects and healthcare projects in APAC. He is J-Startup recommendation committee member and an advisor to Healthcare Innovation Hub (Inno-Hub), facilitated by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Hitotsubashi University, Faculty of Commerce and Management, B.A.

 

About Kenny Awata

Kenny Awata is currently the Chief HR Officer at Repro, a leading web analytics scale-up in Japan.  Prior to Repro, he worked for DeepX, covering engineer HR as well as a tech lead. He has also founded his own startup in Australia. Kenny has a Master’s of Integrated Marketing Communications from Queensland University of Technology.
