Levitated quantum systems can be used to build ultra-precise sensors for use in technology but also to search for new fundamental types of forces and dark matter. In this seminar PhD student Trisha Madhavan from Mikhail Lukin's Nanomechanics subgroup at Harvard University will talk about her work on levitating tiny magnets and coupling them to NV defects in diamond.

IEEE-NANOMED is the conference where practitioners will see nano/molecular medicine and engineering at work in both their own and related fields, from essential and advanced scientific and engineering research and theory to translational and clinical research.

If you facilitate events for diverse audiences, you may encounter unexpected situations that are difficult to navigate at the moment. Effective facilitation centers on what participants are doing and experiencing, setting the tone of the event, and tending to the group dynamics in the room. Inclusive facilitation is a leadership skill that requires self-awareness, observational skills, agility, and intention. Join this session to sharpen your leadership facilitation skill set in preparation for your next event. This workshop is intended for participants who have some prior facilitation experience. The workshop will be conducted in English by Kristin Macapagal, Program Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The workshop will include lectures that will provide an overview of the current status and challenges of research on the marine environment and marine ecosystems, promote the exchange of the latest knowledge among disciplines, and present cross–disciplinary perspectives. Young researchers and graduate students will share and discuss their ideas to formulate recommendations for the future of cross–disciplinary research.
