Ahead of the spring 2025 opening of the YIL (Yagami Innovation Laboratory), which will bring a fresh breeze to education and research, OIST-KEIO will host an exchange event! Tom Froese, Assistant Professor leading the Embodied Cognitive Science Unit, will discuss how the human mind is shaped by interactions with "agents" such as avatars and robots, as well as with the environment. He will share insights from his research and discuss future directions.

In the talk “Adapting Basic Spectroscopic Research to Commercial Medical Devices: Lessons Learned from EPR Measurements of Molecular Oxygen in Tissues,” Prof. Swartz and Prof. Flood will discuss the application of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) in measuring tissue oxygen levels. The talk will highlight the challenges and successes in developing EPR for human use, particularly in oxygen and radiation exposure measurements.
