Scientific Computing & Data Analysis Section
Mission
The Scientific Computing & Data Analysis Section (SCDA) promotes the use of centralized High Performance Computing (HPC) and data storage at OIST. We operate Linux-based computer clusters for computationally intensive research ranging from bioinformatics, computational neuroscience and physics. We also provide secure high-performance storage for research data and results.
In addition to the computing and storage resources, we also provide education and training in the use of the clusters; we support researchers in their data analysis and visualization, and we provide consulting services for specialized data management issues.
Services
- Make high-performance computing resources available to researchers through our cluster infrastructure.
- Provide high-performance, high capacity secure storage for research data.
- Offer scientific services for data acquisition, analysis and visualization.
- Support the users through user training, software support and installation, and one-on-one consultations
