Date

Location

Lab 4, F01

Description

This is the 31st biweekly session of the OIST Theoretical Physics Seminar.
In this seminar series, we pretend to have a theoretical physics department, and tell each other informal stories over drinks and snacks.
Except no drinks and snacks, because people stopped consuming them for some reason. If you want them back, let me know.

Speaker: Jiahui Bao (Qubits and Spacetime).
Title: "Quantum chaos and black hole".

Chaos is interesting and ubiquitous in nature, you can find it in black hole, weather prediction, or even stock market. I will introduce the basic notion of classical chaos and quantum chaos, and the method to measure them, e.g. the out-of-time-order correlator. Then I will talk about some interesting relations between chaos, black hole and holography.
