FAQ
How is this different from a normal Github account and repository?
- The OIST Github account is an organizational account, so you can create private repositories if you like. Otherwise the functionality is the same. You can create new repositories as you like, and collaborate with anyone else on Github.
Why does OIST require me to use the OIST Github instead of my own?
- OIST requires all its members to store their research on OIST respositories to ensure that they are properly managed and archived. When users leave OIST repositories will remain active, and can eventually be archived as required.
- It's cheaper to have one big one.
