Description

Dear All,

Mathematics, Mechanics, and Materials Unit (Fried Unit) would like to invite you to a Seminar by Prof. Maurice van Putten, Sejong University, Seoul.

Date: Wednesday, July 19, 2017
Time: 14:00-15:00
Venue: C209, Level C, Center building

Title:
Some new directions in cosmology and astrophysics

Abstract:
We revisit some modern problems on dark energy and extreme transient events, the first in cosmology at accelerations below the de Sitter scale cH, where c is the velocity of light and H is the Hubble parameter, the second as targets of opportunity for the Japanese gravitational-wave detector KAGRA in conjunction with LIGO-Virgo.
