Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Quantum Mechanics with a Focus on Atom-Light Interactions

Within the Quantum Systems Unit headed by Prof. Thomas Busch (https://groups.oist.jp/qsu) we have currently an opening for post-doctoral researcher in the area of theoretical quantum mechanics, with a focus on ultracold gases and nano-optics. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with Dr. Fam LeKien.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics or a related discipline, be comfortable working in English, and have demonstrated a creative and independent-minded approach to research.

In particular we are looking for candidates with good skills in analytical and numerical calculations of the propagation of the electromagnetic field in a dielectric medium (waveguide).

Term: 

The appointment is initially for one year with the possibility of renewal for two more years, contingent on satisfactory performance.
