Help the communities affected by heavy rain and floods

We would like to encourage the OIST community to give support to families who are suffering from the recent heavy rain.

Since July 3rd, a low-pressure system, bringing record-breaking heavy rain has hit mainland Japan and is still contining to fall.

One city in Kyushu has received more than a meter of rain between July 3rd - 9th 2020, which is three times the average for all of July. Read more about the news from here.

The rain is causing landslides, swollen rivers, and floods in low-lying areas.

Many families living in Kyushu area, as well as other prefectures in western Japan, are suffering from the damage.

To help these places, here are some links you can use to provide donations or supplies to the community.
