Description
OIST's mission is "to provide internationally distinguished research and education and contribute to the promotion of Okinawa”. How can OIST, a world-leading research institution based on original and open-ended ideas, contribute to innovation in Okinawa?
This event will focus on the theme of "smart agriculture" and will introduce the challenges in the field, OIST's research activities, and start-up initiatives, while considering how research and local industrial activities can interact and create innovation in Okinawa.
This event is co-hosted by AgVenture Lab, with which OIST has a partnership agreement, and Okinawa Agricultural Cooperative (JA Okinawa). It is organized in collaboration with the AgriSphere project, which is a Japan-EU grant supporting startups in digital agriculture across Japan, Spain, and Cyprus.
