[Seminar] Evolutionary Approaches to Antibiotic Resistance by Professor Michael Baym
Date
Wednesday, February 27, 2019 - 10:00 to 11:00
Location
C700, Level C, Lab3
Description
Abstract:
Antibiotic resistance is a major public health challenge, but is fundamentally a problem of evolution. This talk will address some efforts to study resistance evolution in the laboratory, using the MEGA-plate system and more classical directed evolution. These results show the need for both point-of-care diagnostics and likely algorithmically-driven explorations of drug combinations.
