Strategic Japanese-Indian Cooperative Programme on Biomedical Research

1. Overview:

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST), JST and DST have agreed to implement a program for joint funding of Japanese-Indian cooperative research projects in the field of “Biomedical Research”.

Research topics for Biomedical Research are: “Medical diagnostics for early detection, particularly for infectious diseases” and “System biomedicine and their computational platforms”.

2. Eligibility:

Proposals must involve a principal investigator from each county.

Principal investigator on Japanese side must be affiliated with a university, research institute or company in Japan.

3. Amount: up to 15 million yen

4. Period: 36 months (by March 2017)

5. Deadline: !!! October 31 (Thursday) 17:00 !!!

If you would like to apply for this grant, please submit Grant Pre-submission Form to SRS (sponsored_research@oist.jp) one month prior to the deadline.

Application form shall be written in English.

PI on Japanese side needs to provide the research title and summary in Japanese. Please follow the instruction in the guideline.
