Synthetic Biology Journal Club

Date

Thursday, November 28, 2019 - 17:15 to 18:00

Location

Lab3 B712 or one of the classrooms nearby

Description

We are a group of researchers interested in Synthetic Biology: gene circuits, protein and RNA engineering, artificial cells, DNA origami, alternative codons, cell engineering and basically anything that people create using biological systems.

We meet weekly in one of the classrooms by the Graduate Schools to discuss interesting papers. Usually the presenter copies figures from a paper, makes an introductory slide to explain the motivation for the research and leads the rest of us through the paper. Discussion are very casual and interactive. We talk about papers from every perspective - from authors to the colour choice in figures.

The club has been running since early 2018, but now we decided to make it public.  We are mostly members of Nucleic Acid Chemistry and Engineering Unit, but we want to expand, so come discuss with us!
