Abstract

The ongoing interest in the experimental realisation and theoretical analysis of quantum droplets has shed light on these peculiar states of matter in binary and dipolar atomic gases. Here, attractive interactions that would otherwise cause the gas to undergo collapse are stabilized by a beyond mean-field contribution, the so-called Lee-Hang Yang (LHY) correction. We consider a quasi-one-dimensional dipolar gas in the beyond mean-field regime and assess the role of the dipole polarization angle and the strength of the dipolar interaction to understand regimes where the quantum droplets can be accessed. We also examine the dynamics of the droplets, finding droplet-droplet bound states as well as mass transfer between two initially equally sized droplets.
