Date

Friday, October 9, 2020 - 14:00

Location

Lab 4, F01

Description

This is the 25th biweekly session of the OIST Theoretical Physics Seminar.
In this seminar series, we pretend to have a theoretical physics department, and tell each other informal stories over drinks and snacks.

Speaker: Guilherme Sadovski (Gravity, Quantum Geometry and Field Theory).
Title: "Why is the world four-dimensional?"

In this talk, I'll give a possible explanation on why the world seems to be
four-dimensional. However, this is just an excuse to talk and raise
awareness about a particular mathematical structure that seems to have a lot
of potenciality in Physics: the so-called exotic smooth structure.
