Participants will reflect on how they trust others, learn the difference between trust and psychological safety, identify behaviors that cultivate trust, and discuss in small groups. Greener Mobility Mid-term Workshop: Progress and Feedback
As a continuation of the Greener Mobility Ideathon held in December last year , this mid-term workshop serves as a platform to share interim results and engage stakeholders, including local citizens, in shaping the next phase of development. The project aims to explore practical and community-driven solutions for sustainable transportation, combining digital tools, behavioral insights, and collaborative design.

Preservation and Utilization of Quantum Correlations in Information Processing tasks
"Table-top Experiments Inspired by Geophysical Phenomena" by Prof. Jun Zhang from NYU & NYU-Shanghai
Prof. Jun Zhang, graduated and received his BS degree from Wuhan University in China, and earned his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. After a postdoctoral experience in biophysics at Rockefeller University, he came to NYU and started building the Applied Math Lab at the Courant Institute and later he became a faculty member (physics and math) there. His research interest has been in the field of physics of fluids and complex systems, which includes biomechanics or bio-locomotion (organismal swimming and flying), geophysical fluids (thermal convection, continental dynamics, and erosion), solid-on-solid friction, urban heat-island effect, and self-organization phenomena at many different scales.

Cephalopods: The Masters of the Ocean
For centuries, cephalopods, including octopuses, squids, and cuttlefish, have fascinated artists and artisans across many coastal cultures, and have been represented in many ways. However, cephalopods remain mysterious creatures that are hard to encounter in real life. In this video exhibition, renowned marine life photographer Ryo Minemizu, provides us with a glimpse into the biology, behavior, and unique genetic features of these marine invertebrates. This exhibition is organized by the Cephalopod International Advisory Council 2025 and hosted by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology.

Virtual School Fairs for Families
Dear all,

In addition to the October 9 school fair that will focus on local schools in Okinawa, we are planning to host two virtual school fairs this October to introduce additional educational options. All interested families are welcome to join, regardless of the age of your children. (Children are welcome to attend as well!)
The two sessions have been organized based on the type of school experience provided: international boarding schools in Japan and online learning programs (full-time and subject-based options). All of these options use an English-based curriculum and are either in Japan or can accommodate students based in Japan. We welcome you to attend either or both sessions.
