本展覧会では、壮麗なサンゴ礁の美しさと、そのサンゴ礁が直面する環境問題を視覚的に捉えます。展覧会「コーラルカラーズ」をご覧いただくことで、サンゴの白化現象という現実と向き合い、環境問題への理解と関心を深めるきっかけとなることを願っています。
展示作品は、テクノロジー、ジェンダー、フェミニズムをテーマにした作品やプロジェクトで知られる、英国と日本にルーツをもつアーティスト、スプツニ子!氏によるものです。スプツニ子!氏は、OIST初の客員アーティストとして、本プロジェクトにご参加くださいました。
このプロジェクトは、ティモシー・ラバシ教授率いるOISTの海洋気候変動ユニットと共同開発により実現しました。

"Coral Colors," spectators are invited to confront the ongoing reality of coral bleaching and to spark an awareness of environmental issues.
The artworks on display in this exhibition were created by British/Japanese artist Sputniko!, widely known for her creations and projects exploring the themes of technology, gender, and feminism.
This project was developed in collaboration with OIST’s Marine Climate Change Unit, led by Prof. Tim Ravasi.
