Title: "Gravity and differential forms"

Abstract:
I will explain how four dimensional Riemannian signature General Relativity arises via dimensional reduction from a certain theory of 3-forms in 7 dimensions. I will aim to explain the background to all this rather than this construction itself, to make the seminar of educational value. Thus, I will cover some special holonomy geometry in 7 dimensions, as well as topics related to self-duality in Riemannian geometry in four dimensions.
