Seminar: "A possible topological phase of gravity" by Mr. Guilherme Sadovski

Speaker: Mr. Sadovski is currently in his last year as a Ph.D. student at Universidad Federal Fluminense, Brazil.

Abstract: In this talk, we will address the possibility of a d=4 quantum gravity regime being described by a topological quantum field theory (TQFT).  For that, we will very briefly review the problem of d=4 perturbative quantum gravity and introduce (not so briefly) the notion of TQFT. In particular, the remarkable quantum properties of such a theory makes it very appealing for such purpose.
