Description
The Science Digest is back! Please welcome our invited speaker, Dr. David Brückner, NOMIS Fellow at the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria. The title of his talk is "Learning the stochastic dynamics of biological systems across scales: from single cells to organoids", and he will present his latest research on inferring the dynamics of confined cell migration and cell-cell interactions. The seminar is open to everyone interested in the fields of Biophysics, Cell Migration, and Developmental Biology, and those who would like to know more about IST Austria and Dr. Brückner's career. Save the date: Tuesday, May 31 at 16:00 JST on C700 or Zoom (Meeting ID: 990 6065 9864 Passcode: 855680).
Everyone is welcome! See you there!
About our invited speaker
David Brückner is a NOMIS Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria. His research focuses on the physical principles governing complex biological systems, including cell migration, developmental systems, and chromosome dynamics. To study these systems, he develops theoretical approaches combining inference methods, biophysical models, and information theory. David studied Physics at the University of Cambridge, followed by doctoral studies in the group of Chase Broedersz at the LMU in Munich. He has been awarded the Gustav-Hertz-Prize of the German Physical Society. Follow him on Twitter: @d_brueckner / Link to speaker's page: www.davidbrueckner.de
