OIST Mini Symposium "Nanoscopic Synaptic Function"
In the neuronal system, synapses play pivotal roles for selecting neuronal signals to accomplish a variety of neuronal functions. Such roles of synapses are governed in presynaptic and postsynaptic elements of which the former mechanisms are less understood due to technical difficulties. Recent technological advancements have enabled, however, to address important unsolved questions on presynaptic mechanisms.
All invited speakers are world leading scientists challenging these issues from biophysical, morphological or molecular aspects.
To mutually facilitate the impact of the symposium, this OIST mini-symposium is co-organized together with the 5th year symposium of the Core-to-Core program of JSPS, where 15 leading labs from EU, UK and Japan join for scientific exchanges on the nanoscale mechanisms of synaptic functions.
