Program Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Position Summary:
The Program Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (PD-DEI) facilitates the achievement of OIST’s mission to promote and enhance its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and create an environment in which all members of the university are valued, have a sense of belonging, and can thrive. The PD-DEI works closely with the Executive Director for Professional Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ED-PD&DEI) to develop actionable strategies and programs to drive DEI understanding and ownership amongst the OIST community and its stakeholders. Under the leadership of the ED-PD&DEI and the Vice President for Strategy Implementation, the PD-DEI will establish and deliver programs and training, provide consultations, and monitor progress on OIST’s commitment and mission to promote and sustain increased diversity and build infrastructure to establish equitable and inclusive environments. The PD-DEI will engage broadly across the university to develop productive partnerships with, and provide consultations for academic and administrative leaders, staff, faculty, students, and researchers, to drive DEI efforts across OIST.
