"Future of volume microscopy - with special focus on VolumeScope challenges" Prof. Klaus Qvortrup

Date

Monday, March 13, 2023 - 14:00 to 15:00

Location

Lab 1 B503

Description

Volume microscopy is an upcoming electron microscopy technique for Biology. It consists of electron tomography, focussed ion beam SEM, serial block face SEM, array tomography and serial section TEM. These techniques allow for studying cellular interactions in three dimensions. After modelling the structures, organelles of interest, their volume, interactions and connectivity can be established. The technology initially developed to study the connectome is penetrating in all the fields of Biology.
