TEDxRyukyu at OIST

The OIST Auditorium is going to be the venue of the second TEDxRyukyu on Saturday, November 9, 2013. TEDx is a conference, where people gather together to listen and enjoy talks and presentations about "ideas worth spreading." Unlike the original TED event organized by TED.com, TEDx is a "TED-like" event, independently organized by local community members, who share the same passion for exchanging ideas on – but not limited to – Technology, Entertainment and Design.

In 2010, Dr. Kyushima from Chubu Hospital organized here in Okinawa the first TEDxRyukyu, which was also the third TEDx event in Japan. This time on November 9, OIST welcomes Dr. Kyushima and his team of volunteers to organize yet another wonderful conference under the theme "Crossroads". Just to name a few presenters, the list includes names such as Ms. Takako Miyahira, a famous Okinawan movie director, Ms. Yukino Ikeshiro alias "pokke104", a popular artist from Okinawa, deep-see biologist Dr. Ken Takai and the architect of OIST's campus Mr. Ken Kornberg. TEDxRyuku is an invitation-only event.  Everyone who wishes to participate should register through the Website TEDxRyukyu.com. The participants shall be chosen on a lottery basis.
