Minicurse: Morse Theory

We will introduce two new moves that can change a four dimensional manifold leaving its boundary unaffected, namely: blow up and blow down. We will use these two moves to simplify the description of a three manifold in terms of knot surgery. The Poincare homology will be used as an example to apply this technique.
