Title:
Printing Porosity in Thin Film Polymers
Abstract:
Organized Microfibrillation (OM) is a technique for creating microporous structures within polymer films. OM structures have the dual features of structural color and long range connected porosity, making them a suitable candidate for specialty printing and microfluidic devices.
The OM process has been demonstrated in a range of common polymers and with various substrate conditions, such as transparent and flexible substrates. Previously, we demonstrated the capability of the OM process for high-resolution printing (up to 15,000 DPI).
During this seminar I will explain the OM process and recent progress in developing OM for printing and microfluidics.

Prof. Amy Shen
