Y2026 Journal Titles Cancellation (As of January 01, 2026)

Dear OISTers,

 

Due to a significant reduction in our library budget, we had to cancel several journal titles, effective from next year. The decision was made by the Library Director after careful discussions with the Library Committee, taking into account cost-effectiveness based on usage statistics.

In case you need an article from one of the canceled journals, you can either purchase it using the “Pay per View” option, apply for an individual subscription, or submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request through the library (the latter is limited to print materials).

Please be aware that we may need to cancel a significant number of journals next year as well, due to the fact that journal prices increase year-over-year. Additionally, most of the costs of the journals subscribed to by the library are denominated in dollars, pounds, or euros. If the yen continues to weaken for them, this also places a significant burden on the library's budget.
