Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Quantum Mechanics with a Focus on Strongly Correlated Quantum Gases

We have currently an opening for a post-doctoral researcher in the area of theoretical quantum mechanics, with a focus on strongly correlated quantum gases. The work will be carried out within the Quantum Systems Unit, which is headed by Prof. Thomas Busch. For more information about the group please see https://groups.oist.jp/qsu.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics or a related discipline, be comfortable working in English, and have demonstrated a creative and independent-minded approach to research.
Knowledge and an interest in the following areas are of advantage:
- ultracold atomic systems in restricted geometries
- models for few body physics
- fundamental concepts and ideas from quantum information and quantum thermodynamics
- numerical skills and HPC experience
- quantum metrology and quantum measurements
Compensation and Benefits:

Term:
The appointment is initially for one year with the possibility of renewal for two more years, contingent on satisfactory performance.
