Description

This is the 36th biweekly (LOL) session of the OIST Theoretical Physics Seminar.
In this seminar series, we pretend to have a theoretical physics department, and tell each other informal stories over drinks and snacks.
Except no drinks and snacks, because COVID.

Speaker: Yasha Neiman (Quantum Gravity).
Title: "A new kind of Feynman rules: what is Higher Spin Gravity?"

I'll try to convey my excitement about my latest project, which involves a new Feynman-diagram-like framework for the elusive theory of Higher Spin Gravity. I'll try and hit a number of themes:
1. Frameworks vs. models in theoretical physics.
2. The importance of being Earnest local.
3. Marrying ideas from fields and strings, from on-shell and off-shell.
4. Numerics-as-experiment in mathematical physics.
